Good these employers need to compete for the best pay.
Good. Even without the gender-gap issue, making a job posting without a salary is just ridiculous. Prospective employees should know the compensation before they expend effort trying to get the job.
Did someone downvote this? Interesting… I guess it’s working as intended then.
Can you clarify how you mean that? I thought thread upvotes and downvotes were supposed to be about what people think is said in good faith + worth talking about (and not just what they do/don’t like).
Pay transparency is being forced to exist with laws. As soon as studies were done on pay, it was found that people were discriminated against based on gender, race, etc. The counter to this was ‘no they aren’t’ with almost every business (and all of the ones I’ve worked for) telling employees to ‘not talk about pay’. The constant argument against this is that it doesn’t need to happen. People down voting means it has to be law, because people are still trying to hide these numbers.
If you have the stomach for it, read the comments on the article. They’re vile enough to prove just how necessary these laws are, and I say this as a white, middle aged man.
Are the comments visible without an account?
Yes, though seriously, it’s grim. It makes me … Very unpatriotic.
