States are free to run their own elections, they’re bound to the federal government only by way of following the Election Day schedule and the method of transmitting the results.

Removing a past elected official who knowingly compromised the security of our country and the other elected officials should be something we can all agree on regardless of party. When either side starts doing it out of retaliation, that ultimately just affects us as a population because it will be that much harder to check them by voting.

It’s sad, really. Why did Republican states start doing it after it happened to Trump if not for retaliation? All it really did was start this back and forth between both parties pointing at each other and doing what they are accusing the other one of.
