I have one, but it only gets used a few of times a month. Usually by my wife when she just wants to make a small amount of coffee in the French press, or to boil water for instant foods. If you don’t really drink tea, they aren’t that useful for the amount of counter space they take up, and I can see why they aren’t as common here as they are in the UK.

Soapbox@lemmy.zipto memes@lemmy.world•And all the antivaxxers I ever knew sure like recreational substances too.English3·5 days agoMost of the people I know who went antivax during covid are very specifically antivax about the covid vax only. They are afraid of the mRNA tech, they think it’s going to modify their genes or some BS. It really is political BS though. During the pandemic, the right wing decided to make this an issue, and they stick with it.
Most Americans opt to have their employer take the taxes out and send them to the government for them. But its not required, we can choose to receive all of our pay and take responsibility for sending the government their cut ourselves. Its a PITA, but some opt to put their taxes in an account to earn interest for a year before paying the government. They view paying monthly as “giving the government a free loan.”
When you have your employer do it for you, your pay stub breaks down the amount you started with and how much was taken out for each tax. We can see what we are paying in tax on every paycheck which is why so many Americans complain about it.

It hasn’t mattered for me, as I have never removed any from the lights I blocked with it. I would assume the purpose made stickers would be better about residue if they need to be removed.

If they were actually going after armed gang members, they probably would be getting shot. But as we can tell by the fact they are hiding their faces, they are chicken shit losers cosplaying as tough guys targeting defenseless people because it’s easier.

But you know, they make blackout stickers for exactly this application. They look a lot nicer. Though personally, I just cut little pieces of black electrical tape.
“Blue jeans on a white t-shirt, she’s killin’ me in that miniskirt.”

The only reason we bought it was because my dad’s cousin was an extra in one of the classroom scenes. As a result I watched more times than I could count, and love cyberpunk stuff.
I bought: Drova - Forsaken Kin, Kamiko, Spiritfarer, & Beseige
Terrible drill bit. Mediocre taffy puller. Adequate paint mixer.

The republicans and libertarians despise public institutions. They want everything to be privatized. They cannot stand that an oligarch is not profiting from the service the USPS provides.
They are constantly trying to undermine the USPS to make it struggle so they can point and say, "Look! Look! See! Government services are bad! We must cut this wasteful spending and outsource mail delivery to Amazon Mail™ "

Yes, I know I could buy a used one on ebay but I’d rather have a new one.
Yep. Woman I dated in college. After we broke up she found out my class schedule and signed up for the same electives.
The only way I finally got her to leave me alone was to introduce her to the man she’s now been married to for 15 years.
I’m pretty sure I read the other day that it’s the original founders of Digg (Kevin Rose) who bought back the corpse and are leading this with VC funding.

Crazy how this meme is supposedly almost a decade old and this is the first time I’ve ever seen it.
