Meine Ölheizung muss halt heizen, wenn ich nicht frieren will. Eine neue Heizung kann ich mir noch nicht leisten.

Ich würde die Heizung ja auch nicht höher laufen lassen wenn das Öl günstiger wäre. Ich hätte höchstens schneller das Geld für eine neue Heizung zusammen.

Those places advertise on door dash because that’s where everyone looks by default.

We don’t have door dash but something similar where they either have the door dash drivers or they forward the order to the restaurants which have their own drivers. And those with their own drivers often will give you the restaurant’s card and ask you to order directly because of the high fees.

Personally I really hate calling so I only order from the restaurant directly when it has a website. Calls just suck because I might have trouble understanding the other’s accent or they mine. And it is much less error prone when everything is in writing. Especially when there are special requests. And not having to juggle payment at the door is a plus as well.

I’m disabled and would love to have one I could remote control around the house and garden to help with chores. But they don’t even seem to be good enough for that.

I mean, it probably is the easiest way for them to carry it. But the sense of urgency with which they were running towards it was hilarious.

Cloudflare must be an NSA honeypot. It must be. Cloudflare has immense power to man-in-the-middle basically every website on the planet.

And if they aren’t directly run by the NSA they probably have at least one agent working undercover. Probably from basically every other spy agency on the planet as well.

The Deck uses MangoHUD to draw FPS over the screen. Maybe it can be utilised to show the battery.

Ackshually there have been a few Steam Machines sold back when they were introduced. They should be horribly outdated by now.

Of course that depends on the apps in question and if you are even able to install additional apps in a managed environment.

But not all apps are so limited. The cookbook app for instance saves all recipes as markdown files you can easily share with others, download or backup.

Managed Nextcloud is definitely easier than hosting it your own. I bet they also have the hardware to guarantee good performance. With any luck Hetzner also offers AI features like face recognition and automated tagging.

But don’t go in there expecting a fully fledged Google Photos alternative. Even when Memories is much better than Nextcloud’s own Photos, it lacks many essential features like easy filtering of your collection. You basically have to sort your photos yourself.

Unless Hetzner offer something on top of Nextcloud file sync is done via Webdav, not sftp or rsync. But basically every OS has Webdav clients.

Calendar and Contacts are also synced via DAV. CalDAV and CardDAV. Works well for me on Android with DAVx⁵.
