Mid to low range phones are fairly cheap and more than adequate for almost anything . Do you know how shit even mid range phones were 10+ years ago and how fast they were getting too old to be usable. Right now its more than reasonable to use any smartphone for a 3 to 5 years and probably even longer ( before only champions like samsung Galaxy note 4 could even hope to match that ). Everything you talk about is cheaper and more afforable than ever before( if you do the usual and not buy overpriced brands beacuse of a brand like apple , galaxy phone , roomba robot vacuums etc… ). The only thing thats a shitshow right now are websites and computer prices precisly beacuse right now the current hype is LLM( which makes graphic cards really f expensive and kinda hits website by ricoshet due to the negative LLM influence ).

Actually even as smartphones go there is a progress. Folding phones. Coincidently they are less relaiable and not as long lived . Exatcly as smartphones were 10 years ago.

Also smartphones were something much grander than a simple tech innovation. They were truly a society changing innovation like cars, trains , planes or a computer. They just peaked much faster than cars , trains or planes. In fact they probably had bigger impact on society than computers.

Yeach windows has problems but stability is definietly not one of them. Likewise linux has problems but in fact it is not harder to use ( in fact it is so easy to use that it is reasonably popular to put some easy distro in some forsaken by time laptop instead of windows for pepole who use browser and literaly nothing else ). Frankly speaking most pepole just dont give enough f about their system. The best i can say about it is that pop os specificaly just looks better ( i am in the apparent minority of pepole that very much likes the looks of gnome ). The best way to populrize linux is to have it by deafult instead of windows on laptops and prebuilds but that will never really happen ( they make insane amount of money on Markup by having windows installed despite the fact that they get it for really really cheap. Its really apparent when you compare some laptops that can be bought without the os preinstalled )

That actually seems just true or perhaps it just lines up with my personality. Alghtough i wouldnt be so quick to put wars , plauges and other dangers as the actual cause. its probably the opposite and the relative lack of those combined with the social media either overblowing most stuff or completley opposite , ridiculuing the problem with no inbetweens makes pepole weary .

Im suprisingly on board for ai art. It does allow you to create whatewer you want without having the technical ability to do so. ( For example of you want a sick wallpaper ) Ot significantly lowers the floor as far as creating anything art related goes.

I for one agree with besos.How tf is this a wrong thing to do ? The press should not tell you to vote for someone. It should report news. Sure it can shit on one person more than the other due to various circumstances. In case of this particular election it would probably be donald trump. Mostly beacuse its hard not to in his case. But the press itself should not endorse someone. But even if they are biased they should be biased in articles they create so that you can at least blame the particular reporter ( because pepole are biased and you cant really avoid that ). Company itself should not endorse certain politiicians.

Beacuse crunchyroll consistently fuck ups. Its actually impresive. The god awful change to their site design that removed the ability to comment on videos and made it very netflix like ( which to be fair is quite good on tv , but horrible on pc ). The apparently pretty bad treatment of voice actors. Pretty bad originals apparently ( actually i only watched part of the aztec one and i dont remember why i stopped but the reviews generaly werent favorable for any of them ) . And to top it all you all in america have it good. In europe there is still heavy region locking and crunchyroll decided to block acces from all free vpns beacuse f* you ( they really could just pretend they dont exists but no ).

Im pretty sure we could make AI in games smarter and/or better than humans for a long time. They are just not fun to play against. You need to have AI that you can win against. What i think should be happening instead of neural networks is the ai should gamble a bit more . The good example is eu4 where on hard difficulty ai will not attack you until its sure it can win… which makes it more predictable than normal ai beacuse you can reasonably guess whetewer it will attack you and try to outmanouver it. Wheras on normal sometimes it will just attack you if there is a reasonable ( or sometimes even unreasonable ) chance to win which makes normal sometimes( very very very very rarely ) harder difficulty. Now hard difficulty is stil generaly ( 99,9% of time ) much harder due to ai cheats but what i said is a thing. Total war Warhammer 3 could use that in particular to spice things up. Currently attacking army will always attack and defending will defend which makes attacking more advantagous , and the army will always wait for reinforcment . They could for example make it so depending on the army composition ( or even just rng ) the defending army will sometimes attack ( for example when there are only melee combatants ) so that you dont have time to deal damage with mage . Or the opposite. Make it so the attacking army will just stay still and protect the artilery and bombard you with canons it it has lots of artilery . Like you know just some basic strategies so the fights arent always so similar at the begining.

Samsung Galaxy note 4 or my current asus rog phone 6d. Note 4 was a peak of smartphone design, large screen, exchangable battery, stylus ( mostly for fun, i do like to have phones that have something special in them, but it was quite usefull for playing nonograms , havent actually used it for notes ever ) microsd, jack. Evrything ever needed in a phone was there.

Rog phone 6d on the other hand has suprisingly many features minijack ,TWO usbc ports , actually large storage ( microsd is good but android has a lot of limitations on what you can use it for so its not that usefull and you still need fairly large internal memory unfortunetly ) and most imporantly the back has rgb ( have i mentioned that i like phones that have something special ). Also it comes with a fast charger included ( which shouldnt be special for such an expensive phone but apparently getting single usb cable for charging somehow became a standard practice ). Also a large screen and it looks sick.

Does it track proton use as linux or as windows ( as in does it track platform, what version of the game are you using or both ).

I expect it to change with the next gen consoles at best ( ps6, xbox whatewer tf ). Beacuse with them we might finally be able to see the games that just straight up abandon traditional rasterization and go full ray tracing only ( also the last strugglers on pc will probably finally abandon gpus without raytracing support by that time, pepole tend to complain on consoles for ‘slowing down progress’ but dont see the absolutely ancient devices most or to be precise significant minority of gamers use ). For now even with ps5 pro they still need to create ps5 version.

But i on the other hand also dream vwry vividly and intensly when i think about stuff before sleep ( whatewer it is , book idea , aliens, power fantasy about conquest of russia, imagining the layout of pipes around my house ).

Yeach there are only few exceptions where lemmy communities shine through. And its mostly linux or programing related stuff.
