Really? I get the US isn’t the best at it, but come on, you go to jail in Russia for being in an LGBTQ marriage, and in China LGBTQ marriage is still considered a second rate union. Your asking the US to force a societal change but not China and Russia for a legal change? That seems to be slightly bullshit
you go to jail in China and Russia for being lgbtq
Source on that, please, especially for China? I’m pretty sure both countries have no laws against it, although Russia doesn’t allow gender-affirming care anymore. Neither have any anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people, but although that’s terrible it is something entirely different.
This is just the report on the USA. This agency does it for every country that signs a particular treaty, with a new report for each signatory country every 4 years. I’m guessing they have stern words for the many countries that do much worse than the US, I mean there are countries with the death penalty for lgtbtq people. I don’t think they’re saying the US is the worst by any means, they’re just pointing out areas the US could have specific improvement. Mostly they’re pointing out anti trans laws and things going up in red states. Again this is a report just on the US, it isn’t about any other country. The US is better than many countries for lgbt rights but has room for improvement too.

Correction: my original statement was incorrect.
Can’t do both?
That would be ideal
