Was somehow logged out of my account, and can’t log back in because says password or username is wrong, changed it- still says it’s wrong. So I’m locked out of my own account.
Guess that’s it then as I have no patience for their shit to even bother contacting them about this.
I got locked out of an account I had for 10+ years due to a similar mishap. It sucked, but it also coincided with the last exodus. I’ve been happier to just disengage for the most part. Fuck reddit
Same here. I lost my ~12 year old account. Been on Lemmy since. I find myself doomscrolling less which is nice.
Yeah same story with my first four accounts I ever had. It was heartbreaking to me back then but now I’m numb to all the heartbreak that Reddit admin has put me through over the years… Welcome to Lemmy. It’s more dignified & you get treated like a human here.
I did that to myself, but congrats nonetheless.
You won’t miss it.
Oh well, just means more time to spend with us!
If you expect something similar to happen in Lemmy, it would be a good idea to export your Subscriptions in advance so you will be able to get back in with another account and possibly on another server.
Yeah, people may not believe it, but the company of the CEO who edited comments he disagreed with does do shit like this. They usually do it to accounts that didn’t register with an email or used a temporary one, because they know they can troll them and get away with it. There was a point where they kept up appearances, but just like other social networks, even those close by, they discovered they really didn’t have to. People will still flock, no one gives a shit or they end up forgetting when these violations occur, there’s no real way to denounce them or hold them accountable.
This just happened to me so I came here to see if it had happened to anyone else. Should have known it wasn’t a problem on my end.

Can’t you just “forgot password”?
Also, I highly recommend keepass for all your paswrod needs
I did that. Changed passwords and still says it’s wrong.
I always read that as “KeepAss”
