It will edit your comments before deleting so they can’t be restored.
You can also edit them without deleting, so you can leave a message for everyone why you left reddit, and a tutorial how to switch to lemmy :)

Are you maybe a mod on the subreddit?
You have to be really careful with recommending alternative platforms on reddit. A few months ago the mods of r/cringetopia tried to migrate the sub to their own website and it ended up with reddit banning the sub.
Im sure they will be even more strict about it now, possibly banning users that even mention lemmy. Not that i really care if they will ban me.
