I know Brotherhood tells a better overall story as it aligns more closely with the manga. BUT, the music and pacing of that scene in the original anime production of FMA hits a little harder, in my opinion.

They fucking broke that show because they needed to pump up the numbers and keep up delivering anime episodes while the plot was still being written. FMA is perfectly done till around ep 25, then it’s totally ruined. FMAB rushed the first arcs of the anime because it was already seen by 9/10 of japan and resumed the first 25 episodes in like 11… it’s the only show I know characters start flanderized and deflandreizeid slowly through the show.

Now I dont know how to recommend that show. It’s like you have to be a hard fan of it in the first place to watch it correctly…

FMA’s music and characters where excellently done…

There is still a better way of recommending it, which is recommending the manga

For me it was the other way around. FMA had the better story with a drift at the end into the twilight zone, while FMAB drifted into a generic action show. I never understood the hype.

So I only caught a few episodes of the original(including the one in the post) and then watched brotherhood, it’s definitely rushed to that point but I loved everything after that, it wouldn’t be that hard to cut together a playlist of the first 25 of FMA and then let FMAB take over around 11 like you said.
