Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) said policy differences toward Israel between her and President Biden won’t stop her from supporting him in the November general election.
“Of course,” Omar said Tuesday, when asked by CNN’s Abby Phillip on “NewsNight” whether she would vote for Biden if the election were held that day, in a clip highlighted by Mediaite. “Democracy is on the line, we are facing down fascism.”
“And I personally know what my life felt like having Trump as the president of this country, and I know what it felt like for my constituents, and for people around this country and around the world,” Omar continued. “We have to do everything that we can to make sure that does not happen to our country again.”
Dude. I’ll be honest. If I witnessed Biden kick a puppy I’d be out. Hell my vote is mostly symbolic anyway; living in a deep red state. I’ll vote with all my might but people who oppose Trump really need to stay vigilant of anything that might sway swing state voters. That’s what is most frustrating. Fuck the electoral college and gerrymandering.
Populist vote would solve a lot of problems.
The electoral college is definitely a flawed system. If we are talking large reforms why the fuck do we even need a president anyway. It’s one of the biggest distractions from enacting real change.
Honestly thought I’m not even concerned with the shape and form of the government at this point. While ranked choice or something similar could be the catalyst for major reform. I think helping people, now, could have a large scale effects.
Keep the government exactly as it is but give people their lives back. Take them out of the workplace and give them time to restore their broken communities. That, to me, would have the largest impact.
