With the elections nearing and the Biden-Harris administration still being complicit in Genocide there is but one way for crocodile tear liberals to fix the issue: Start banning anyone who comments about the Biden administration being complicit in Genocide.

/Politics mod JordanLund who also mods /WorldNews decides Biden has nothing to do with the Genocide in Gaza

JordanLund banned users in the past for questioning israel’s right to exist. JordanLund now takes it one step further and is now spreading misinformation about israel not running out of weapons without American support so Biden and Harris are “not complicit in Genocide”:

I link him a guardian article proving he is lying (JordanLund has deleted my comment which just quoted a Guardian article debunking his lies):

Biden must force Israel to end the war

Recent reports in the Israeli press make clear that because of a global shortage of ammunition that started with the Ukraine war, Israel would not be able to sustain its bombardment of Gaza without the US resupplying the Israeli military.

JordanLund responds by calling TheGuardian misinformation, promptly bans me and says he supports the “rightful defense of israel”.

He also piles on more lies and claims the only weapons being sent by Biden are Interceptor missiles which are “misappropriated by israel for the use in Genocide”?

Reuters Exclusive: US has sent Israel thousands of 2,000-pound bombs since Oct. 7

Between the war’s start last October and recent days, the United States has transferred at least 14,000 of the MK-84 2,000-pound bombs

Lemmy.World has reached /Politics and /WorldNews communities which differ little from their Reddit counterpart.

FYI, readers of /politics are very familiar with Linkerbaan and his nonstop hammering of a single wedge issue from a single narrow viewpoint. To be honest, I believe the mod made the correct choice.

I suspect he will jump on any procedural or technical issue that he thinks he can find with the mod log, etc, and at no point discuss his own position, motivation, interest in the matter, or any other facet of his participation that indicates that he is a good faith community member. I suspect this will come with personal attacks, ad hominem arguments, insults, and false attribution of other community members beliefs (including calling them, racist or genocidal) instead of addressing his own behavior.

Making personal attacks against people who agree that it’s a big deal but say that voting third party is counterproductive, though, is hammering a wedge issue from a narrow viewpoint.

Tho problem for me isn’t viewing the genocide as bad. I am in full agreement there. The problem is the response to people who disagree about the most effective way to stop it.

Pointing out someone’s patterns of behaviour on a thread they started about their own behaviour is not an ad hominem attack. It’s an on-topic discussion of the point at hand.

Calling someone who agrees that an ongoing genocide is dreadful but believes the suggested course of action will make it worse a genocide enabler, on the other hand, is an ad hominem.

No, but banning someone for questioning Israel’s right to exist is reasonable, since that’s advocating for genocide.

I can see someone eventually getting fed up with the one-sided narrative, and it’s true that Israel would not actually have ran out of weapons. We are not the exclusive supplier to Israel, simply the most convenient for them. They are capable of domestic manufacture and purchasing from other entities.

I was not banned for questioning the Apartheidheids state of israels right to exist, another user was.

A colonial Apartheid state is not a people. Saying Apartheid South Africa should not exist does not mean one supports the Genocide of white people.

Israel cannot get their 2000 pound school buster bombs and tank shells in this quantity anywhere else. Even the israeli press reported that israel was starting to run out of weapons before Biden resupplied them which is linked in my post you hopefully read.

Yes, a current supplier stopping its supplies to you will cause your stocks to go down. The mistake is in thinking this cannot be rectified in any other way. You’re probably right that the big bombs could only come from us, but big bombs are not really required to destroy Gaza. Napalm would work just fine, and is very cheap. Tank shells are produced all over the world, and I’m not even sure Israeli tanks use NATO standard. If they do, then multiple suppliers could be found.

Actually it is genocide, since the only way to destroy the state of Israel would be to kill or drive away many of its citizens. When you destroy a people’s way of life, that qualifies as a genocide, and is why current Israeli actions meet the qualification. If any other group did similar things to Israel, it would also meet the qualification. Saying a colonial state is somehow special is silly. It’s people, living on land. Why they arrived there is largely irrelevant, when all of us colonized the whole Earth from Africa at a distant point in the past. Palestinians and Israelis, along with everyone else, are native to Africa, not the Middle East. Everything else is arbitrary. While we could all move back to Africa and leave the rest of Earth to the rest of the animal kingdom, I doubt current-day Africans would be very appreciative.

We were discussing criticizing Israel’s right to exist, and whether that is or is not advocating for genocide. Reforming South Africa to change their apartheid system has very little to do with whether Israel should exist or not.

No, posting a single incorrect article should not result in a ban. A pattern of bad behavior should, though.

You were banned for repeatedly saying Joe Biden and now Kamala Harris are personally responsible for the genocide being committed by Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu.

You want to make it sound like Biden and Harris are out there personally pulling the triggers dropping bombs.

NONE of that is true and I gave you extraordinarily free rein in both World News and Politics.

But when you went off calling Harris “The Vice President of a Genocide” and then doubled down again and again, that was the end for you.

You’re passionate on a topic that we both agree on, but your passion has taken you off the deep end into conspiracy theory bullshit and nonsense.

You really should focus more on holding Israel accountable for Israel’s actions… like snipers killing kids:

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/02/gaza-palestinian-children-killed-idf-israel-war

    https://truthout.org/articles/israel-has-tripled-the-number-of-children-its-killing-via-gunfire-in-west-bank/

Israel has been committing war crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria for DECADES before Biden and Harris held political office. They are not to blame here, Israel is. Bibi is. Their crimes will continue regardless of support from the US or who is President.

Blame the actual perpetrators, not those you imagine are involved via six degrees of separation.

You deleted my linked articles for “misinformation” and are now retroactively making up lies to justify your defense of a Genocide. But I’m glad you’re admitting that mentioning the Democrats complicity in the Genocide in Gaza is a bannable offense on Lemmy.World/Politics and /WorldNews.

Blame the actual perpetrators, not those you imagine are involved via six degrees of separation.

Yeah don’t blame the Biden administration sending the F35’s, 14000 2000 pound bombs, Jet fuel, interceptor missiles and running diplomatic cover in and outside of the UN going as far as pressuring other countries to deploy troops in Gaza for israel.

Let’s see what employees of the Biden adminstration have to say about it

US has ‘undeniable complicity’ in Gaza war killings, say former US officials: A dozen former U.S. government officials who quit over U.S. support for Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday accused President Joe Biden’s administration of “undeniable complicity” in the killing of Palestinians in the enclave.

In a joint statement, opens new tab, the 12 former government officials said the administration was violating U.S. laws through its support for Israel and finding loopholes to continue shipping weapons to its ally.

In line with my claim elsewhere in this thread that this account is following the alt-right playbook, in the above comment we see:

        • Never Play Defense (instead of defending themselves against the claims, they jump immediately to attacks)
        • Control the Conversation (instead of addressing their own behaviour, they try to pivot back to the very topics that got them banned)

Their actions match strongly with those of a bad faith contributor who focuses on a single topic (the genocide in Palestine) on one particular side (anti-genocide) whilst advocating for actions that many (including myself) have pointed out would, in fact, lead to the opposite result. When others point this out, what they get in return isn’t a nuanced discussion of these concerns, but rather personal attacks that I believe qualify as repeated violations of rule 1.1 of lemmy.world.

You should absolutely be banned from all of Lemmy, because you’re obviously not arguing in good faith ever.

But instead of that, mods kowtow to your whining and you’re not banned from much, if anything, ever. They even reverse bans which were an appropriate response to your toxicity. You get people banned or their comments deleted when they call you out.

It’s like Facebook where tone is policed but intent is ignored. A lot of people see that you’re doing bad shit and no one is stopping you. You whine about every little response to your toxicity.

I’m sure you totally won’t claim that I’m a Zionist or genocide supporter/enabler, because that’s totally not your response to all disagreement or criticism /s

I’m also sure you won’t make a weird claim about me being a “stalker” because I once said I have questioned myself in thinking you post so much and as a result, checked your profile /s

For someone claiming to be a freedom fighter for Palestinians, your actions sure do support Trump, who has vowed to help Israel even more. He wants to “get it over with” and that never has seemed to ever bother you. Gee, I wonder why that is…

This pathetically thin defense “it’s not allowed to disagree with me because all purpose shield ‘you love genocide’ is on my side!” does not work. Get a new one.

You could done nothing different besides instead of criticize democrats unconditonally, say “voting democrat will reduce harm even though they are doing nothing to help now” and you would get 95% less pushback, but instead you choose to never ever address that and lie about anyone’s intentions who points it out.

Finally, somehow it never crosses your mind that YOU are the cause of all this drama. Nope. It’s all the other users who pushback or take mod actions against you. All of them support genocide, and your approach is blameless. Definitely is the most likely truth!

Mods of a political forum censoring a Genocide seems pretty relevant but I guess it doesn’t matter much to you.

Too bad that my internet policy seems to be interfering with all zip sites. Doesn’t connect even when I change DNS. Though weirdly it does work when I use it with a VPN or Warp (which is also kind of a VPN but not really).

Great writeup, thanks for taking the time to call out mods!

IMO: Blue MAGA and MAGA share a lot in common, they do like to defend Israel and their status quo politicians.
