    I’m not a hundred percent sure with your first statement, but I agree with the rest. My (quibbling) disagreement is: from over here it looks like he’s not being controlled per se, he’s being successfully manipulated using the levers and motivations you described. not blackmail. They didn’t need to do that. Might not have been able to, as Krasnov’s reputation is such I doubt it’s possible to slander him. In this case overall it’s I think a distinction with little difference for those of us plebes but with all the difference for those in the national and international politics game.
