Fuel Rationing Spreads to Moscow and St. Petersburg
In brief: Major gas station chains across several Russian regions – including Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Republic of Tatarstan – have begun rationing automotive fuel. The most severe restrictions are documented at Tatneft stations, which have capped sales at a meager 20 liters of gasoline and 40 liters of diesel per vehicle nationwide. Other giants like Rosneft and Lukoil have introduced similar safeguards in the capital.

Imagine having to think about filling your tank if under 33% of max, because you will waste 30% on standing in a queue.
20L for imperial folks is only 5.3 gallons. Assuming you get 20mpg you’re only getting about 100 miles out of that.
