Architect! That sounds more like what I’m wanting. I’ll search around for one, thanks!

This post made me try again to find a solution, and maybe a USB extension cord with a on/off switch could work. It’s not automated but would be more convenient than removing the dongle each time. I’m thinking something like this
I have this exact same problem, but with a Chevy bolt. Some cars USB ports are “always on” and some aren’t. Might be worth trying different ones and see if there’s a port that doesn’t power on randomly. This didn’t work on my car, but it’s a common solution I came across when I was trying to figure it out. For now, I’ve just reverted back to wired AA.
They should use Lithium Iron batteries for a real LiFe pro tip
The yacht was a bad example. What I’m getting at is that not hating something is not the same as supporting it. I don’t support Dave doing this, but I don’t hate him for doing it either.
Yeah, I can see how it could be seen that way. I’m thinking more along the lines of “Dave performs for money. Someone wants to pay a lot of money for a special performance, and it doesn’t affect any of his other shows so of course he would do it”. IMO what Dave did isn’t unethical, but I can see how it could be seen that way. But I also think if the article was “Amazon Execs bought a multi million dollar yacht after massive layoffs”, no one would be blaming the yacht manufacturer. Just the execs.
Eh, all he did was accept money to do exactly what he does: play a concert. Now if he canceled other concerts just for this, that would be a different story IMO. The Amazon execs would just buy a yacht or something instead if Dave declined.
I’m the same, those dongles don’t last, and are annoying to use. I picked up one of these cables from aliexpress to use with my iems and it works a treat. There’s better quality cables out there, but for 10 bucks these are solid.
Nothing online I’ve found is interesting. But I bought a pack of “Student Driver” magnets, and put it on my car enthusiast friends Porsche. Haven’t heard anything yet, so im hoping its still on. Might throw a new one on whenever I notice its gone.
It’s not a “worse” display. It’s a different display. The only point is that if you want an e-ink phone (either for readability or battery life) this is one of the only options. Assuming it actually launches at least.
There’s F3. I’ve never used it but it looks decent. https://www.linuxbabe.com/command-line/f3-usb-capacity-fake-usb-test-linux
I think it’s because someone who takes enough Road trips to use something like that would properly just get a regular plug in hybrid. That being said, this might be coming soon for ev trucks actually. The dodge ram ev is going to have a gas powered range extender, and I believe ford has patented a bed mounted version for its ev truck.
These still exist, for now at least. Just not any flagship phones. My Oneplus nord n30 has all of this (well idk if the fingerprint sensor is ultrasonic, it’s on the side and fast though). And I’m pretty sure a lot of Motorola phones have these as well. Only downside is not the best processors or cameras, but are good enough for me at least.
I have a kobo libra 2, but have had kindle paperwhites in the past. The kobo is the better experience IMO, for 3 big reasons. 1, physical buttons. The buttons on the side also mean there’s a good place to hold the device, where on my old paperwhite I would accidentally skip to the next page constantly. Someone with smaller hands probably won’t mind as much though. 2, easier to get library books. Overdrive is built in, so I don’t have to go find my phone to search for books. 3, more customizable with the fonts and layouts and I can load in custom fonts really easy. That being said, my partner has the newest Kindle, and she adores that thing and hates how big the kobo is.
I was thinking about an apple TV, but I’m not in the apple ecosystem so I’m not sure how well it would work for me. Shame, it does look like a great device
Good idea. I checked and it’s not transcoding, just direct play for audio/video so it’s not codecs. I’m still leaning towards bit rate being too high for the fire stick processor for now
No transcoding, it’s doing direct play for video and audio. The roku eventually gives up and plex gives a “your network is not good enough” error unfortunately
Good to know! I think I’m just gonna bite the bullet and get a shield pro then. Thanks!
Basically all tracking is done by Google ads. It checks at start up if you have purchased ad free or not. If purchased, launch app without ad library, else launch with ads. It has to be in the code because (according to the dev) Google is cracking down on similar apps, ie a pro version and a free version. So ad library has to be included, and it just won’t use it if you pay for pro
We were thinking about that, but our yard is a bit complex with shape and existing features and would prefer a professional to help us think of any potential problems we’d run into.
