No, the Democrats didn’t do enough
LOL
That’s almost as bad as… “Dems aren’t perfect, but.”
Christ, I wish the Democratic Party had a shred of empathy left for workers. The minimum wage has been $7.25 for almost 20 years now, across two Democratic presidents who had control of Congress, and both made $100 billion-plus dollars appear out of thin air for war profiteers. The system gives these men all the power they need to make meaningful change, they just don’t give a fuck about anyone who can’t afford the $500,000 minimum it costs to buy a five-minute meeting at the Democratic National Convention.
Republicans stab us in the front. Democrats stab us in the back.
Telling people that they are is lying to their face
Democrats convinced 10,000,000 people that voting didn’t matter by doing nothing about their economic suffering apart from spending three months of campaign time telling them to just be joyful about it. Of course those people chose a badly needed day’s pay instead.
They told another chunk of people, who’ve watched their family, friends, and neighbors get bombed at will by Israel that they supported it by sending Israel more WMD’s mid-genocide.
The liars are the people we elected to represent us who did an abominably shitty job. It’s that simple. Will Republicans be better? Probably not, judging by their history, but for some reason no failure is failure enough to get people to change how they vote anymore. They just stop voting completely.
People don’t want Nazism, Fascism, or genocide.
They just don’t want these neoliberal Democrats.
Drag ain’t gonna do that, because it’s not true
Good.
We’re getting somewhere, then.
It is, yes.
Try telling someone working 80-100 hours a week who still can’t afford groceries that they’re actually free.
Obviously not. Remember when significant percentages of people in the primaries voted ‘unaffiliated’ or ‘undecided’ with the express purpose of communicating to the administration that they wanted the weapons shipments to stop?
Biden/Harris ignored them.
It’s one thing to refuse to change policy. It’s another to refuse to change policy, support the bombing of kids, AND tell the voters to go fuck themselves.
Ah, well, I find it weird that this doesn’t seem to bother you, so I guess it all cancels out in the end.
Probably easier to say when have we not voted for this? Israel’s been systematically terrorizing the Palestinians since what, the 40’s?
When both parties enthusiastically support a war of genocide, it’s fair to say they’re the same, yes.
*Squatters
Or terrorists.
Both work in this case, but “settlers” is way too sanitary a term for what’s happening here.
This is what you voted for, America.
It’s not half.
It’s 99%. Well, 98% after ten million voters realized neither party was doing anything for them and opted not to skip a day’s pay last election day.
they stop people from following the order in the Quoran which states that people should educate themselves.
That’s the beauty of the major world religions. When you have power in your hands you can pick and choose what you want to honor and make it public policy, and there’s nothing the plebs can do about it.
Not all religion is bullshit, but there is a lot of crossover between religious teachings and bullshit. That’s why they invented the word ‘faith’, because they are self-aware of the incredulousness of it all.
Like the utter bullshit in this article, as if 7th Century teachings have anything to say about VPN’s.
Respectfully, you think I’m denigrating Islam because it’s different from what I believe?
No.
I’m simply pointing out what, to anyone who wasn’t raised in it, is obvious stupidity.
Really wish our species could evolve past this moronic, religious bullshit.
You don’t. That’s what the homeless people are for.
But, it’s not impossible to move up. When oil crashed in March 2020, several companies’ stock, which you can purchase on Robin Hood or any app-based exchange, were down to pennies. Those shares are now trading for $15-$25 dollars, so even if you bought a small amount, you made a tidy profit. It’s how I paid off my student loans.
Trump, in his largesse and incompetence, is likely to inadvertently cause a market crash somewhere in the next four years, so I’d encourage you to save at least a few bucks if you can from each check against the possibility of being able to buy stock super-cheap in the wake of a crash. If you have the patience to hold your stock for a year or two, it’s rewarding.
Agreed. It’s silly.
I like Mastodon. It’s like social media from 2010, chronological, only seeing what you want, great curation tools, and no ads or stupid algorithm. Moderation is also way better on Mastodon, though it can vary by instance.
I haven’t used BlueSky, but I imagine it feels pretty familiar, which is what a lot of people want, and that’s cool too.
They can both be good things.
I really want to admire this guy’s courage, but with everything that’s happened in Haiti, it feels more like stubborn stupidity at this point. I hope things change and he comes through this okay, because he sounds like a pretty rad human being, all things considered.
Solid points all around.
Further, even if it would be largely ineffectual (which it won’t), we should make it inconvenient for billionaires to dodge taxes, just as some states make it inconvenient to obtain guns.
