I just wish SLS wasn’t such a compromised project from the start. Sure it’ll be kinda cool to see, but its just the least innovative rocket possible. If only some of spacex’s contract budget could’ve gone to funding NASA instead 😔

Still plugging away at Pokémon Omega Ruby, my wife is playing Alpha Sapphire. Remembering just how fun and cool the 3DS is as a console. Also played a bit of Dragon Quest Builders on Steam Deck.

all of the computers in my house run linux, and other than a few laptop hardware issues my non-techie wife uses it for all of her work happily. Sure I can’t play Fortnite, but other than that sort of edge case I never see myself going back. My dual-boot windows install has been left to rot on my desktop and I don’t think it’s even worth the time investment of updating by firing it up again.

I’ve played stardew a reasonable amount, but my wife has absolutely devoured that game haha

I think they were ported relatively recently afaik

bookmarking this to read later, thanks for sharing! Loved the game as a kid, and it’s still fun to pick up and play on literally any hardware now :D

I just went in and opted out, but setting up my sellfhosted gitea instance has just moved to the top of my todo list. I already have a postgres database server running, and a VM where I can run docker containers so I’m excited to get all of my code out of there.

Thank goodness I have an actual medical reason to work from home for two days a week, RTO came just months after taking the job on the promised hybrid schedule.
I feel like I can get different sorts of productivity at home and at work, and depending on how my workload lines up I often need both in office and at home time to make progress.
Managers and others up the chain absolutely cannot know what’s best for individual workers productivity and so try to micromanage instead

What’s the real downside of localized population decline? I’m not going to have a child to help the financials of a school district, I think society should be able to adapt to fluctuations in population without having too much of a tantrum 🤷
My wife and I want a child someday and we’re privileged enough to be able to afford that (probably) but it’s not because we’re afraid of the human species going extinct or demographics changing over time. A lot of concern about birth rates is very white supremacist-coded even if some individuals aren’t aware of that.

I’m selfhosting a gitea instance now. If anyone wants to host some code on an optiplex tower in my spare bedroom, pm me and I’ll make you an account. Absolutely zero uptime guarantees, but also absolutely zero AI.
