  • Cut off American funding to Israel.

Move Israels borders back to its 1945ish pre-Nakba borders. Return the land to the Palestians.

Prosecute every member of the IDF and all of its pro-genocide politicians at the Hague.

For any Israeli not spending the rest of their lives in jail, DNA tests for all of the rest. If they have markers that say their ancestors are from that area, they can stay. Every other one gets shipped back to their parent countries or any country that will take them.

The US is currently getting rid of plenty of “illegal” Hispanic people so there should be plenty of similar jobs/housing for any incoming Israelis. I mean we took in Nazis after WWII…

    Let the flames begin.

Edit: And just to be clear, the DNA testing is merely a formality. Everyone knows whose ancestors are from that land. It’s a return to pre-Zionist colonization that is the point of that. Plenty of Jews were in Palestine under the Ottomans prior to the demise of that empire.

It seems foolish to claim to understand these facts and still believe that something like a “two state” system can be enacted.

That’s like expecting 18th and 19th century Americans being expected to actually honor their treaties with the natives. Why do the dance?

Unless the Palestinians decide otherwise to allow Israel to continue to exist or settlers to stay, etc., why hem and haw about it?

  • He literally isn’t, though, because being anti-capitalist is the starting point for Socialism. He’s just comfortable with actual Socialism. Which most Americans aren’t thanks to propaganda.

Not to knock the guy. I voted for him the one time I was allowed to. He’s easily one of the best of a bad bunch.

But at best he’s a Social Democrat, which just means he’s Left of most Dems, but given how the Overton window has shifted over the course of his lifetime, post-Reagan that’s not saying much.

Again, not knocking the guy, but he really dropped the ball with Palestine and AIPAC.

Did he switch back to being an Independent? I thought I saw that a while ago.

    Anyway, good talk. Thanks.

  • And it just gets worse. Pardon me while I rant.

Here in central Louisiana, a state historically in the bottom 3 in education, they’ve now opened an “ag only high school”, obstensably to teach trade school and “farming” skills. When I was in high school ag classes were offered where they basically taught welding. At least that’s all I ever heard anyone talk about, oh and maybe some husbandry, but not with actual livestock.

The gist of it though, is now all of those kids who were in the non-college ag or business track can now take just ag classes, and it’s in a completely separate campus about 7 miles from my old high school. They don’t commute from another high school and I can’t imagine they have much more than a basic English and Math curriculum, if that. And a not insignificant portion of them will upon graduation go work for their families.

There’s also a “magnet” school (pardon the excessive quotes, it’s Louisiana and nothing is ever as it seems) in the county seat that seems to only be useful for draining off the non-sports smart kids… which might be good, except I suspect this is being facilitated by Louisianas take on the Republican school-voucher programs. Which if you didn’t know is a way to drain funding from “under performing”, i.e., poor, usually minority, schools.

So that can’t be helping any national reading or math scores.
