I’ve said this before but at this point I think our only hope is the destruction of the Republican party so Democrats are the new conservatives. This way a progressive party could arise.

Or get rid of first past the post voting and the electoral college. But that seems harder somehow.

It should be noted here for younger people that the election was illegally stolen by the Republicans in Bush versus Gore. If that one thing hadn’t happened I believe we would be looking at a very different world today.

I understand your rage. I feel it too. And deep sadness. I live in one of the reddest states in the US. I don’t know what to do. I finally had all my ducks in a row to take out a loan and buy a house for my wife, her mom, and I to live in. Now I want to flee the country. But my wife’s mom is elderly and will not leave. So my wife will not leave. So I will not leave. I’m going to buy a rifle to complement my other firearms and get my wife a pistol and shooting classes.
