  • I quite like that I can access my D&D character sheets or my CV through iCloud. I like that if my phone suddenly exploded my stuff is backed-up. I like that Steam has cloud saves on top of local ones. That is about where it ends, though. The idea of renting a computer, especially from these goons, is completely ridiculous and I hope people don’t validate it just so they can play expensive games(cheaper games needing less intense hardware exist and are often really, really good).

So, there are clear benefits but you’re right that after a point it’s just not worth it. I’d rather fuck around with emailing myself copies of things than let the entire tech world take over our lives like this.

  • Lol where did I say I wanted to start a war and burn everything down? I hope you’re rejected from the reserves, you are not mentally stable. “Righteous anger” brother you need therapy, not a weapon.

You’re also a fucking coward who seems to be really eager to carry a gun for Carney but can’t even vote for themselves. Just a little baby who wants to shoot their way out instead of doing anything that might be genuinely effective.

You don’t know shit, apparently you don’t even have a firm grasp on knowing how to read.

  • The working class slinging in behind conservatives is one of the reasons I know we’re so stupid. Conservative just have to put on a cowboy hat and say some lies and these morons go right along with it. Helps they have a lot of mutual racism, sexism, and homophobia, of course.

Living a good life for me is playing music and D&D and shit, it’s separate from the rest. That said, things getting better make mean not having as great a time as we want. I’m in a pretty privileged situation so I don’t want to act like I’m some kind of hero but I’ve also been without a job for almost two years and am still willing to take the risks necessary for the longterm health of the country. Getting better is not often comfortable.

  • If someone can’t decide between the NDP or the Conservatives then we are well and truly completely fucked as a country. The NDP are a bigger change from the Liberals than the Conservatives and they actually seem to give even the smallest fucks about the regular citizens. If someone goes Conservative “for a change”, despite their governments always having been bad, then again we’re fucked because those people are too monumentally stupid for our society to ever actually function. They’re also showing what parts of the Liberals they liked and didn’t like, i.e. which parts they would give up and which they wouldn’t, and that they were really just conservatives the whole time.

The pattern is we’re fucking stupid.

  • Really? Skills and experience to do what? Sell off our national resources to private companies? Cut more money out of the 99%’s bank accounts? Talk big game about going against Trump and then suck up to him? Try to intimidate striking airline workers by ordering them back to work and thereby declaring their strike to be illegal?

Fuck Carney, and fuck the economic illiteracy of anyone who thinks what he’s doing is actually good for us.

You seem to have the kind of brainrot that believes that a weak response is “clever” and a strong, committed response is “extreme”. Well guess what, sometime you have to actually fucking do something or the effort you do put in will be entirely wasted. Extreme would be ordering all billionaires killed, all we’re asking for is stuff like taxes for the rich and not participating in anti-union actions. If that’s extreme then fuck running the country, I wouldn’t even want you in charge of making a bowl of cereal.

  • Exactly. I got a ticket for Huntclub west of Conroy back in August. When it turns to a 60 zone nothing changes and nothing indicates that you should pay that “60” sign, which look an awful lot like an “80” sign, any extra attention. Like, a 60 zone with merge lanes?!? And a central median two lanes wide?!?

I asked for a trial and, if needed, I’m straight-up going to say that I don’t see why I need to take this seriously if the city won’t even do that. Of course, they’ve completely fucked up getting me that trial so that time may never come.

For context: I’m a huge advocate for walkable cities, public transit, etc. I’m not against the slower speed limit, I’m against the stupidity.

  • Protip: even in our shitty system, if we all vote for the NDP they’ll win. And if we accept that we don’t always get everything we want right away we will understand that it’s us not voting for them that keeps making us say “well no one votes for them so they won’t win” every election. Also also, in 2021 they got more than half the votes of the Liberals so there IS plenty of support out there.

If we keep voting for liars and thieves then that’s exactly what we’re gunna get. We deserve this, but we can also change it.

  • The kind of thing I want to avoid is strategic voting. I don’t care if I lose fair and square, that’s how democracy works, but the practice of throwing your voice in the trash for a fake sense of “strategy” is garbage at every level. Besides, people say they do it to avoid the Conservatives so obviously they don’t want conservatism, and yet their idea of defense against is to vote in people who don’t call themselves conservatives but who enact incredibly similar policies.

“Can’t form government” is such a cowardly excuse, too, because yea if you refuse to support the ideas you believe in nothing will ever happen. And then the next election it’ll be worse, because people see the lack of support from the last time. It becomes a pattern, and here we are. In 2021 the NDP got over half the votes that the Liberals did even with strategic voting so there’s clearly lots of support. Combine them and the Liberals and you get a population that at least believes itself to be largely left of center so actually piss off.

  • How is it optimal? All it has done to is allow the centrists to push right without any real fear because they specifically put out messaging telling Canadians to “unite” or “put aside differences” to defeat the Conservatives. At this point it makes even less sense because we didn’t really avoid much of anything as the Liberal party dismantles environmental protections and cows to US demands, and all this last election has done is emboldened them to get even worse next time knowing that Canadians will happily shoot themselves in both feet and their knees.

Just because I have the capacity to think further ahead than four years doesn’t make me self-righteous. Sorry I want long-term success for the country and not a consistent downward spiral?

Vote for the party which aligns with your views or don’t make a single fucking peep when the people you voted for do exactly what they were obviously going to do with your support. They don’t give a shit about the feelings behind a vote, only that they have it. Once they do, you do not matter anymore and they consistently prove that accusation to be correct.
