  • You’ve proven my point exactly. The only text that christians follow, the one that is front and centre of their entire ideology no matter how they choose to interpret it, is comepletely full of holes. Without the bible there is no religion. What do you honestly think Christianity looks like, and where could you even find enough information on it, if you removed the bible and all references to it?

There is nothing without the bible, and the bible itself is nothing of you refuse to obey it to the letter. If there are clear lies they must be removed or else that is an edorsement of said lies contained within, and a willful corruption of the holy text.

And the extra funny thing is that the muslims believe in the same god and they follow the rules in the book. It’s the same guy but apparently all the people who don’t even live in the birthplace of the religion get a free pass to just go off and do whatever? Sure, ok.

  • Sure, but why do they get to pick and choose what is more important than the rest? How do intentionally bad mistraslations for kings and personal gain provide the basis for a religion? Even the best Christians I know, who don’t force their own beliefs on others, still consider themselves to be pro-life because of the bible, or if they treat gay people with all the respect a human being deserves otherwise they still believe beung gay to be a sin. Why choose that stuff to follow but ignore the mixed cloth and tattoo parts?

You(maybe you, maybe the general “you”) don’t get to pick what part of your holy text is important or not. That’s not a religion, just a theology enthusiast with potentially questionable ideas all of their own.

  • Democratic socialism? Literally just use your own imagination for three seconds or google it. You haven’t even begun to try, why should I engage with you in any detail if you’re just going to plug your ears and then claim nonsense?

Capitalism is not just “money exists”, it’s the extensive privatization of all goods and services and pinky-promising that the market will protect people. It’s a naive ideology that insists on a nonsense idea that corporations will have everyone’s best interests at heart and that everyone will always be able to work. It is so full of holes, holes represented by real human beings suffering even through no fault of their own.

You can keep money, private business, and variation in salaries and still have a system with public utilities and regulations to keep businesses in check. If you need examples there are places all over the world that show that there’s not just extreme capitalism or extreme communism. No one is hiding this information from you and you clearly know how to use the internet so do that first before saying nothing is real simply because random people on a forum won’t peel your eyelids back for you while you kick and scream against them.

  • I know readong is difficult, but I literally just said that it wouldn’t be any fun if we allowed for that level of globalization. Every single slice has a sushi restaurant somewhere, they all have burgers and mexican food somewhere.

I live in Montreal, my guy, I am well aware of what is available if we decided to complete ignore the entire premise of the post.

  • No, you can get a better product. Capitalism is designed to focus wealth and that means that all companies that get big enough will, eventually, turn towards the “increase shareholder value at all costs” path. Apple was actually doing really well with how they did things until Tim Cook was in charge and then, when capital became more important than the actual product things started to go south. I have Apple products and they’re still very good, but they aren’t the same company that they used to be at all.

Capitalism is all about the distribution of wealth and putting it at the center of every decision. There are plenty of other ways to have a world very similar to what we have now without that poisonous way of think permeating everything we do and buy. There are more options than unfettered capitalism and Soviet-style communism.

  • The only way this map is any fun at all is culturally. I’m in Canada, and it’s great, but tortiere and poutine and simpler stuff(we’ll exclude a good portion of stuff that’s just modified foreign foods like North American style chinese food) just wouldn’t cut it. And hea there are foods from the indigineous population but sorry if pemican doesn’t get me going like Southeast Asian food.

  • Saw a kid at the zoo banging all up on the glass at a turtle yelling “WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP” and his dad aas doing fuck all. Tried to say “hey buddy maybe we chill” but I don’t really think it got through and he only stopped because of coincidental timing(a parent that shitty would probably get mad at me and I was there to have a good day).

(Note: I did have a good day, the zoo is awesome. We pet rays).
