Pretending? The upper class of capitalists have always favored the right. They’ll allow the milquetoast Dems but lock out people like Bernie just to make it look like there’s political choice.

Well, I mean, are you going to continue to go out and hand them all that money? Then they’ll continue to feel like they can safely raise prices. If you start making burgers at home and buying beer at the local liquor store, you’ll be paying a small fraction of what you paid even in 2016. If you need some social interaction, just make it a cookout and invite people. I’m sure they’ll be happy to have you at their place in return.
I don’t see how me compromising my data affects you, unless I was stupid enough to do it in a government or military position. It’s already banned there.
It’s not that I don’t like it, I couldn’t care less. But as an example, let’s see, how about, almost a hundred years of straight heterosexual cisgender couples sucking face in the vast majority of movies and TV shows ever produced? Or the vast majority of romantic literature? I can think of many more.
We are talking about the general public sphere, not here.
Can we get people to also then stop shoving their cisgender straightness down our throats as well? Would only be fair.
wasn’t aware that the first amendment protects the Chinese right to our data.
I believe that’s for an individual to decide for themselves, not the government. It’s their personal data after all.
Yup. I realize that. If the admin above me says to go fuck myself, I won’t hesitate to leave for another instance.
But in this case they have had their lunch eaten by the steam deck, Rog ally, etc.
I see tons of people still using the old Switch. I have so far seen none other than myself and my kid using a Steam Deck.
I get that. But I’m from the old school. In the 90s and early 2000s, if you paid for server space, bandwidth, and set up a forum for multiple users, nobody questioned whether it was yours or not and your ability to do whatever you want with it. Users who didn’t like it moved on or started their own.
Then why even give a shit and start one and put unpaid hours into it? I don’t do any work without an end product to show for it. The users are just casually posting media. The mod has to sit there all day and make sure the community doesn’t turn into a shit show.
On the flip side, if I create a community for some really niche thing that I want to discuss with others, I don’t want an irrational mob of users kicking me out of my own community that I worked to grow.
Mob mentality on social media is also a real problem. People see downvotes and continue to down vote a comment without even reading the whole thing, automatically assuming a user must be an asshole if everyone else downvotes them. Oftentimes, it’s just something people don’t want to hear, but is true.
Yeah no way in hell I’d ever do something as stupid as fly in a TFR. Everything I do is in order, legally.
You know there are publically available maps you can check before a flight, right?
You guys all don’t seem to get the idea. I have no problem registering my shit and complying with safety regulations. I do when the vehicle itself enforces it. I have heard of no plane that will override a pilot decision because it thinks some aviation rule is being violated.
I never said I don’t respect TFRs and regulations. A couple of my drones are over the 250 gram limit, and have a big fat sticker on them with the registration number, as well as a remoteID transmitter. I’m not stupid. It’s just that a piece of machinery enforcing something on me rubs me the wrong way.
Believe it or not, it is totally possible for some people to respect rules put in place to keep everyone safe and not have to be forced to do it. To me, it’s like driving a car that applies the brakes automatically every time it sees a red light, overriding whatever decision you have made. I don’t want to live in that kind of world, sorry. If someone needs their toaster to lock itself every time there’s no bread in it just so they won’t accidentally stick their fingers in it and electrocute themselves, that’s not my fault.
Lots of drones won’t even fly in a TFR zone.
That’s why I build 'em myself. I have enough common sense to police myself, I don’t need a nanny drone telling me what I can do.
For anyone interested, it’s super easy these days with modular parts and widely available open source flight controller hardware/software.
Keep it under 250 grams, and you don’t even have to register it with the FAA.
Edit: this does not imply I don’t follow the rules.
Back in the day, I had just envisioned storage media getting more and more dense, to the point where we might be using some kinda holographic cube or some shit in the future to store petabytes of data.
I never thought of the entire world just constantly streaming and downloading everything around the planet on demand. The state of Internet bandwidth in those days made it hard to imagine.
Oh you mean South African Debian. Yeah that’s a popular mod, I guess.
