  • Ah, I see what you are saying. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

I guess I’m confused what that licence has to do with AI though.

I know onlinepersona put AI on the end of that link, but from what I can tell it’s just a normal copy left license.

I guess some conceivably could put such a licence on an AI generated thing, but I’m not sure they would be able to enforce it unless the model wasn’t trained on stolen data.

They might be able to copyright the prompt though.

Idk, we will probably have to rely on the courts to determine something like that, which means we will get the worst possible outcome.

  • It’s simply astounding the slop Americans will accept as “Journalism” nowadays.

Though Musk slammed Trump’s handling of the Epstein files, his attacks themselves were riddled with false assumptions, including conspiracy theories about the existence of an Epstein “client list,” which is unsupported by evidence.

So ABC “News” just straight up parrots the Trump administrations talking points as if they are objective facts. “Left Leaning” bias my asshole :(

And what is the “evidence” they use to back up this supposed fact, some lawyer hasn’t seen it. As we all know, absence of evidence is evidence of absence. Good Job ABC, case closed.

Not to mention this lawyers story is full of holes.

First of all he claims to be representing Epstein’s victims, but goes on to say that

“he is bound by attorney-client privilege and cannot ethically reveal the names of any of Epstein’s alleged associates without permission from his clients.”

Exsqueeze me? Admittedly I am not a lawyer, but what exactly would be the point of ‘representing’ the victims if they refuse to release the names of the people who assaulted them? Isn’t the point to bring these people to justice? How would it benefit the victims in any way to not release the names? The only way that would make sense is if Edwards was only there to distribute hush money payments. Can anyone explain this to me?

Then he goes on to say

“It’s difficult to even discern, when he would send a woman to one of his friends, whether that was even a motivation. What he was not is a person on the top of a sex trafficking operation that was sending women to powerful people around the world so that he could make money. It was not a business,”

but later in the exact same article the writer says

“And it raises questions whether those records, if made public, could finally lead to a better understanding of how a college dropout from Coney Island managed to accumulate astounding wealth and proximity to power – a transformation that has long defied ready explanation.”

Gee, its so weird how a guy who was a habitual child molester, who was friends with some very rich and powerful scumbags, who’s partner was convicted of sex trafficking, and who was mysteriously able to accumulate “astounding wealth” is also clearly and unambiguously innocent of running a sex trafficking operation, because ‘some guy said so’. If anyone read that sentence and thinks it sounds plausible please PM me, I just got some really nice bridges in famous cities and I’m willing to let them go for cheap.

Oh and here comes my favorite part:

Edwards describes the enigmatic Epstein as living, essentially, two separate lives: one in which he was sexually abusing women and girls “on a daily basis,” and another in which he associated with politicians, royalty, and titans of business, academia, and science.

“For the most part, those two worlds did not overlap. And where they overlapped, in the instances they overlapped, it seems to be a very small percentage,” Edwards said.

Ok? Edwards let’s say that it was a ‘very small percentage’, WHO FUCKING CARES?! I don’t care if it was one person, that person should be named and prosecuted. For Fuck Sake saying he only did ‘a little bit’ of pimping out underage children for the wealthy to molest as if that excuses it or diminishes it in any way makes me want to puke.

“There were occasions where a select few of these men engaged in sexual acts with a select few of the girls that Jeffrey Epstein was exploiting or abusing – primarily girls who were over the age of 18.”

Again, WHO THE FUCK CARES?! Why does this even need to be said? Even if we take what this clown is saying as absolute fact, that still means young women were being exploited and abused, and some % of them were underage. WHO WERE THE ‘SELECT FEW’ MEN? That is what we want to know, not hear excuses like “Well it was only a few men, and only some of the girls were underage”. Get all the way the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

“That conduct was coercive, it was exploitative, and it was bad. But it’s a small fraction of the men he was associated with,” Edwards said. "And he was abusing hundreds of women, if not a thousand. And it’s a very small fraction of those women that he was sending to men.

I’m not going to say it again. 🤮

he said he has seen no indication that Epstein kept a list of those men, or that he made it a practice to use those instances to blackmail or extort the men

The cameras in the bedrooms and the bathrooms were just there for the molesters safety and nothing else I’m sure.

“So the best thing would be: Protect the victims’ names, release everything else, so that the world can see what is real, versus what is total fiction, and then everybody can move on.”

Except that you and ABC have just spent an entire article regurgitating the Trump administrations excuses for not releasing them, so why in the fuck would they bother? But hey, now you can guys can pretend that you are for releasing the information even though you just gave them every excuse not to. Convenient.

There’s more I could say but I’m getting sick just thinking about this crap. The whole damn thing is disgusting.

  • Yeah, he was a cracker. Here’s the thing though, in other ways he seems like a perfectly normal and decent human being.

We passed by an Amish produce stand and he had me stop. He got a bunch of fresh Veggies and then we stopped at a Chinese restaurant where he went inside and gave the lady working there a bunch of them. As we were leaving he even had a short conversation with her in Chinese. I’m sure it was very simple things like “Have a good one” and “Goodbye” or something similar, but I thought it was cool he had learned it. That kind of thing is pretty rare around here.

In the car he was telling me how they had recently lost one of their children in a car accident. It was heartbreaking. Sounds like he has known them for quite while.

He then had me drive to a neighboring college town that has people from all over the world come to go to school, so it’s a fairly diverse place. He was telling me he liked it there because there were so many different kinds of interesting people. We stopped by his Dry Cleaners which was also ran by Chinese people and he left them with the other half of the vegetables.

Then on the way out of town he had me stop at the International Market. He asked me if I had ever tried Eel before and when I said I hadn’t he bought me a couple of cans (it’s ok, nothing to write home about imo).

So yeah, he was an old white redneck, but he wasn’t a total piece of shit and fairly open minded about some things. I’m not sure why he hates roundabouts, but that attitude is super common around here, among all sorts of people.

  • Democrat answer: Filibusters are ‘not a good look’. We want to be seen as the party of reasonable adults who honestly want to work across party lines to help our constituents. We won’t vote to end the practice as it has a long history and tradition blah blah blah

Honest answer: We don’t give a single fuck about our constituents, the only people we are beholden to are the lobbyists who line our pocketbooks. It’s easier to control the narrative when all of the media corporations are owned by billionaires.

  • I don’t think it’s a matter of ‘can’t figure it out’ as much as ‘don’t like change’. We’ve been putting roundabouts in my shithole state and the number of people who complain about them boggles the mind. They will successfully navigate them, but they’ll whinge about it the whole time.

This happened to me just the other day as I was chauffeuring some good old boy around. Mind you he wasn’t even driving, but still had to let it be known that he disapproved. There was no traffic so I barely had to slow down to navigate the intersection and his input was “I hate these things, they just slow you down!”. I tried pointing out that if it had been a 4-way stop we would have had to stop, so it was actually faster this way. I don’t know if he was immune to logic or just unwilling to admit that something that was different than what he was used to had a benefit, but he just repeated that he hated them, so I dropped the subject.

  • Gross, yeah that’s fucked up.

I didn’t remember anything about that book other than it was a ghost story and thinking it wasn’t good. It actually wasn’t too long after that when I stopped reading him. When he wrote the second book about a scary car I figured he had said all he was going to say. I guess that was before the one about scary cell phones.

It sucks. People suck. I’m glad I stopped reading his books over a quarter century ago.

  • You know, I’m really glad that Tucker seems slightly less batshit insane after leaving Faux, and I hope he continues in that vein. It doesn’t hurt to have a former Trump ball-licker publicly oppose him, but can we please not forget that Sucker is partially to blame for Trump being in office in the first place. He will say whatever he thinks will get him the most ratings, just like he always has.

Let’s not start quoting him as some sort of trustworthy or reliable source.

  • I remember John Jessup, a Republican politician from Hancock County Indiana who was elected county commissioner after being arrested on Sexual Assault charges. After he was elected his daughter spoke up and said that it was her who had been raped. The response of the people of Hancock county was “Well, we didn’t know it was his own daughter he raped when we elected him!” Because just being a rapist wasn’t bad enough I guess.

Fortunately is ass is rotting in jail. I guess he couldn’t afford to buy a pardon. Still I’m a little surprised that Trump didn’t pardon him, I know Trump can relate to wanting to sexually assault his own daughter.

  • So they supported Trump when he admitted to being a sexual predator on several occasions.

They supported Trump when one of his victims came forward about his SA on her when she was 13 years old and ‘reminded him of his daughter’.

They supported Trump when the contestants of the Ms.Teen USA pageant reported that he would barge into their dressing rooms when naked.

They supported him when he made inappropriate comments to minors about dating them.

They supported Trump when he was convicted of Sexual assault.

Tell me again how they aren’t open supporting Child Molesters?

I believe that conspiracy brained Trumpets are mad about this, but not because they actually care about children. They want to bring down the Democrats on the list and think Trump is smart enough to scrub his and other Republicans names off the list and delete the footage of them before releasing it.

My guess is some Dems have copies of everything and have threatened they will leak it all if Trump tries something like that.

  • God damn I love it :) I’ve been messing with Linux for 20 years now and there are some patterns that never seem to change.

In almost every thread about Linux there will usually be:

1 person bragging about 'Using Arch" btw (before that it was LFS or Slackware)

1 or 2 people saying this will be “The Year of the Linux Desktop”

2 or 3 people joking about it being “The Year of the Linux Desktop”

10 - 15 people explaining why it wont be or shouldn’t ever be “The Year of the Linux Desktop”

3 or 4 people complaining about how rude the Linux community is.

10-20 people saying that isn’t their experience and/or they always try to help people when they can.

1 or 2 people actually being rude (who are usually downvoted).

2 or 3 people saying how Windows/Mac OS is better in certain ways.

4 or 5 people complaining about one specific thing that doesn’t quite work for them in Linux, or one specific Windows/Mac only program they must use for work.

8- 10 people giving them suggestions about how to solve their issue or work around it.

Personally I love the Linux community. The people are mostly great, friendly, able to think outside the box, and willing to help others. I try to emulate that whenever possible. Sure you are going to get rude people in every scene, I just ignore them.
