It is cruel to treat other life cruelly.
In the eyes of slavers, slaves would be seen as animals and treated as such. Meat farmers treat animals poorly, too.
I don’t understand the point you are trying to make.

I grew up skateboarding and taking the trams to get around my city. Many of my friends did not, and were driven everywhere. For them, once they were able to get a car and their license, being an adult and synonymous with driving yourself places - because that’s what they always experienced.
There are so many benefits to public transit and green spaces, but most people have never experienced them and can’t fathom why anyone would want to let go of their individual mobility and sense of adulthood. Which sucks.

You’re not incorrect, but the bigger issue is how was the native population treated after having their place stripped from them. It wouldn’t take much for governments to recognise and attempt reconciliation for the idea of stolen land to become less prominent. This is true everywhere, not just in NA.

Recently I have started having to ask hours before a plan is meant to execute, whether the other parties are still attending. Three times out of four I’ve been cancelled on - forgot, too busy, whatever the reasons were.
When was I meant to find out? When I called you asking how far away you are, only to find you’re not coming at all?

Most normal contributors don’t comment nearly as much as you. I’ve left probably 30 comments and 3 posts in 3 years across my (same username, different instance) accounts.

Agree with you. All speeding cameras where I live are on rural highways (110km/h zones), and usually at the bottom of a big hill.

In Australia, you can nominate someone else who was driving the vehicle after you receive ticket. But the ticket always goes to the person whose name is under the car registration.

What if I do have an Nvidia card? I’ve been to and fro on switching for such a long time. I have so much random shit on my PC that it’s making the overhead to leave daunting.
They were still bad days, but more along the lines of “this is the worst year of your life so far”

It’s been decades of US-centric media, political commentary, and general cultural dominance/presence in our lives in most English speaking countries whether we liked it or not.
I kind of read this as the elastic band snapping back, we’ve had to hear so much about the US for long, this is almost cathartic. And it’s not people on the fediverse who are responsible, unfortunately you’re probably the most empathetic group in a social media platform at all. You just happen to be here. With a lot of cynical, anti establishment nerds who have a space to vent.
I did the same thing with Solo Leveling. Can’t wait for the adaptations, animation is crazy good.
It’s very hard to live in the system without somehow taking part. I work in marketing adjacent industries. My job is fully bullshit. But I love my team, I love problem solving, and I love working with research data. So I’m definitely part of the problem, but where I live there’s not much else my skills work for. And as the sole income earner, renting, I’m insecure enough financially that I don’t really have a choice. Almost like the system was designed that way…

Whatever money I would spend on music streaming, I spend on Bandcamp Friday.
There’s one this week people!

Beloved is a strong word. Tolerated maybe.
Hope you kept receipts!
