TikTok had to make Trump look good as he presumably saves it so they did that stunt. In the end both sides know TT has to agree to selling majority stake because it isn’t anything China didn’t do to US firms multiple times already.
This post is overrated, you Philistine.
To me it’s gambling even if you can’t exchange it for currency because the things players are gambling on have worth to them and psychological mechanism is exactly the same. If the law didn’t catch up in some place yet it doesn’t make it any less wrong.
TikTok allows you to set likes and favourites being private/public separately and you’re allowed to share nothing but knowing Meta there will be no opt out.
There’s no way to trade loot boxes between players but there’s gambling on consoles in the same way as on PC. Even if you count Steam Marketplace transactions fee there’s definitely plenty of EA Football Club players on consoles offsetting this.
Besides the ad revenue on TikTok is almost non existent even compared to Youtube. It was never a platform that you could realistically become successful with even if you got views.
If TikTok was widely known for being bad for making money then maybe it pulled some people who didn’t care about money like on old YouTube.
I think we haven’t seen anything other than the shape of the thing so it sounds pretty alarmist. Remember all the sensors packed into Joycons that nobody uses anymore? It enabled stuff like Nintendo Labo and other neat toys. We’ve only seen that the new Joycons have an optical sensor so far. Who knows what else is there and how is it going to get used.
They can moderate by boosting certain opinions and downranking others. It doesn’t need fact checkers because it’s platform owner interests and not facts that matter.
Looks like Nintendo quickly whipped out a video that shows only the things that leaked so far. Way more interested in the announced Nintendo Direct where we’ll see actual new stuff probably.
did you know that there’s a conspiracy theory about a Nazi base in Antarctica?
This being a conspiracy theory is so disappointing to hear, I prefer my nazis far away.
I don’t speak Mandarin so I just share what I’ve heard from a friend who does. Supposedly there are very little rules to explain and other than writing system and how exotic it is, it’s one of the easier languages to learn. All of this sounds perfect for Duolingo. Obviously once you get the basics there’s no other way than immersing yourself in a language but that first hurdle should be easier to overcome.
This was the most important news here!
Isn’t Mandarin grammar super easy? It is relatively easy to speak, definitely less so to read/write.
If that was the case people would be using Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts but they are just bad copies that don’t understand what features made TT popular. „The Algorithm” will be impossible to copy and that’s what kept people there.
This guy is getting downvoted for truth. TT is the only big media platform that consistently promotes socialist policies and openly attacks western status quo. If there are any truly ideological reasons to ban TT it was because of that. We’re being ruled by the oligarchs and their interests were threatened but let’s not kid ourselves - China has their own who’d happily take their place.
It didn’t survive the 70s economic crises but it’s hard to tell what stage of collapse you’re seeing. It could take a really long time regardless.

IIRC TikTok is rather top heavy in terms of income and this highest tier of influencers is diversified across all media channels anyway.
Regular folk have better luck making money on YouTube and Instagram so TikTok creators are unusual bunch. In my experience (which is very likely shaped by the algorithm) they are a mix of talent show performers, odd personalities and no longer relevant one hit wonders that got lucky. They’re mostly sad about losing that space because it’s so different to alternatives. I don’t think anyone that doesn’t have much money feels in power anymore so what are they going to do?
Reminder: there’s an ongoing trade war between US and China and this is likely just a part of it.
It should, especially in Germany which has extra strong net laws. For example, Reddit had a special content report path based on German regulations where you have to confirm you’re a citizen. I believe it’s been a thing for years now.
If he says he’s top 20 player and it turns out he bought that account then what does that mean for the credibility of his other supposed achievements? Oops.
