Well wouldn’t you agree that is still fishy of you to pick the year exactly after the famine? According to your logic that famine was still caused by capitalism anyways.

Odd that Russia and China couldn’t provide enough food. Or at least not the entire time. Seems like complex reasons for that, but sanctions certainly can’t have been the reason for that.

  • Weird as hell take. His first example is League of Legends. Yes it is client server based, so give people the server binaries. Despite me not liking the game itself, LoL is huge and it would be shame to lose that history whenever it inevitably dies out.

And he mentioned that if this law would go through, no one would build live service games anymore. Oh no what a shame that would be… And it is absolutely wrong. Because guess what, the OGs of live service games, Valve, would need to do nothing at all if this went in to action. You can play TF2, CS2 (and yes even CSGO) and DotA 2 today by just running your own server. It’s not that hard.

Edit: Somehow I brain-farted live service as live action, woops

  • You’d think so. But at least Germany struggles massively with missing personnel to staff trains (which includes roles beyond the driver). As far as I know there is no automated solution on the horizon for any form or scale of train traffic. The only self driving trains I have experienced require tight control of the rail environment (entirely underground or lifted above the surface) and special stations with airlocks.

Maybe there is just more money in self-driving cars. But I’m pretty sure they will happen before wide spread automated trains. Which sucks.

  • If AI is only a “parrot” as you say, then why should there be worries about extinction from AI?

You should look closer who is making those claims that “AI” is an extinction threat to humanity. It isn’t researchers that look into ethics and safety (not to be confused with “AI safety” as part of “Alignment”). It is the people building the models and investors. Why are they building and investing in things that would kill us?

AI doomers try to 1. Make “AI”/LLMs appear way more powerful than they actually are. 2. Distract from actual threats and issues with LLMs/“AI”. Because they are societal, ethical, about copyright and how it is not a trustworthy system at all. Cause admitting to those makes it a really hard sell.

  • To me that is the problem and why I’ll probably cancel with this price hike. I don’t want more. I got YT Premium for YouTube, mostly to support creators, cause fuck watching Ads. But I have to pay for Music, Podcasts and whatever other garbage they try to stuff in there. It was the same with Prime. I don’t want to watch your stupid series, I just want free shipping, twitch prime and occasionally an old movie.

Sorry for the rant but these stupid subscription “bundles” are so annoying. The whole ecosystem is becoming shittier every year.

  • Please enlighten me how I defended anyone’s actions in Yugoslavia or even mentioned anything about that conflict at all.

Rational analysis, where you are incapable of addressing any wrong doing of the one person that declared an offensive war? Please attack me personally instead of acknowledging that maybe it is not so good to march into your neighbors territory and bomb their cities. But you do you. I’m sure you have your reasons.

  • Hypocrisy would be if I blindly excused anything NATO did or held them to a different standard. Which, you may recall, I never did.

What you’re being told is that what Russia is doing is no different from what the west has been doing

Okay so what Russia is doing is the same as NATO, which is bad because what NATO does is bad? Or is it justified and NATO is also justified in their actions?

And yes I would claim you vocally support Putin and Russia, because you seem incapable of critique of a war that he is directly responsible for. And note that I’m not even claiming sole responsibility in that sentence.

And if you are wondering, I can certainly offer some critique of NATO and the US.
