Borrowing games from a library sounds awesome! How many games have you picked up over there?

oh yeah so far exploring the world is a joy. The way it shows you bits of loot in places you dont get how to reach at first makes it all the better when you find the way to jump over a roof or roll into dubious falls lol. Also talking to the downer chainmail guy and seeing how he reacts to your progress is such a simple but cool addition, for me it makes the suffering very worth it.

Thank you, I definitely will. I’ve only reached the second bell so far, but I’m pretty certain I’ll try the other titles fromsoftware has made so this info is nice to have. Funnily enough, I had a chat with my kinesiologist about souls games and he said dark souls II was very off putting for him, I guess I’ll try and see what the controversy is all about later on. Hope Ahead!

Went and tried playing Dark Souls again after leaving it on hold for a few months and this time it clicked HARD. I finally get why people love these games so much. The atmosphere, the combat, the sound effects, how it teaches you to persevere my god what an experience. The only thing I regret is not starting this sooner back when I had more free time lol
I had that exact problem and fixed it by changing the audio mode from hd audio to ac97 in the bios settings. Apparently linux doesnt like realteks hd audio
She loaned a husband that went missing just the day before the wedding, duh

Good enough, welcome back Cummybot2000
I used to take out my reliable ol’ USB pendrive whenever I wanted to print something. Then right after a printing errand I found out my pendrive had gotten sick with a virus called “Marcelo” and suddenly all the document files on the family PC turned into shortcuts that lead to an encrypted folder. Never again lol
If you want to get into customizing UIs hard, something the likes of this
You could get started with window managers (very opiniated topic, its really up to you to decide on which you should use) and UI toolkits like
Also I know X11 is slowly dying but AwesomeWM fits your bill really nicely.
TL,DR: You want a cool UI? look at unixporn’s top posts of all time, research an option you find good enough and go bananas on everything you need to make yourself at home.
ALSO consider posting at !unixporn@lemmy.ml so we can marvel at your fine grained setup, good luck!
Support for larger 32-bit x86 systems (those with more than eight CPUs or more than 4GB of RAM) has been removed.
What? How do you get more than 4GB of ram on a 32-bit CPU architecture? Now I need to know what kind of black magic they used for that
The Driftveil City Theme from Pokemon B&W pops up in my mind quite frequently, I’d say its up there in the list for catchiest Pokemon tunes. Honorable mention for Cave Story’s Main Theme (the wii version is clearly superior from all others and I will not accept any other opinions on the matter)
I really thought that the effort of Fedora integrating flatpaks with their atomic spins meant that flatpak development was anything but lacking. I wonder if Redhat’s budget falls too short to take a look at those PRs? Specially for the replacement of pulseaudio, giving mic permissions because you allowed audio to go through your speakers really shouldn’t be a thing. Great summary either way
Question: Is using paperclips a worse alternative? I’ve found them useful for those sim pinholes but im not entirely sure if its good practice
So thats the reason behind the steamdecks fume mania huh? I’ll keep that in mind (hopefully not on my nostrils!) if I ever get one. Thank you for keeping up with the blogposts! They make my long bus rides way more entertaining :)

If anyone is curious, I checked the yay aur helper go dependencies here and it had none of the malicious packages mentioned on this post
LocalSend for quick local network file sharing from my phone that just werks. I prefer it over kde connect because the latter uses lots of random ports that kinda bloat my firewall whitelist. I know there is an alternative called warpinator, but I don’t see a reason to change my preferences for now.
Isn’t that what openGL and vulkan aim for?
I’m no expert on the matter, but I know this yt channel argues that the technology is already available. The thing is, big players like unreal engine devs make sub-optimal decisions when implementing these new features, leaving a lot of games being blurry and/or mal-ajusted simply by not knowing any better. Of course, art direction will always be important for a games graphics, but when the vast majority of tools available make things look bad by default, it makes sense that people will assume a better result is just not available yet.
