I was going to recommend a couple of Mikrotik 5Ghz bridge devices, but for the same money this would probably be easier to set up.
I don’t understand why Mikrotik doesn’t make a 5Ghz Wireless Wire kit. Their 60Ghz WW is great, and already paired like this TP-Link kit. But 60Ghz is so sensitive to line of sight interference.
Definitely weird. WiFi connections are poor, but VPN connection over the same WiFi link is good.
That makes me think perhaps DNS like others have said, or it could be something with your local routing table trying to reach something that’s not reachable. I would probably check the routing table first for anything weird. Like, you might have a static route applied from DHCP, but it’s ignored by your phone OS.
Since you can reproduce it in the browser I would probably look next at browser dev tools (F12). Go to the network tab. Then reproduce the problem. Once the task properly finishes, hit pause and sort by duration. You can also right click the headers and add a Timings>Latency column. See if there’s anything interesting.
Like, are the slow steps hitting a new domain name? Is there a slow POST among faster GETs? Is a step repeating after a timeout?
If nothing’s obvious there I would be tempted to repeat but lower level with wireshark to get the whole network picture. Get a good capture of the problem with a general sense of the timing of the problem pauses (in seconds from the start of capture). Find them in the cap and see what’s what. Compare good vs bad if no clear trends present themselves.

Courier Prime might be worth a look. Very compatible with Courier in size, but more readable and with a much less restrictive license.
Not sure if they’re still in production. There was also an Italian company selling one (maybe based on the same hardware).
Like u/floquant I would look at Mikrotik. But you’ll need to pay attention to port speed (they still sell 100Mbps gear) and their tested routing throughput numbers to be sure they can hit the numbers you need.
Not quite what you’re seeking, but maybe relevant.
Have you considered an SFP modem like the Proscend 180T? Might be hard to source these days, but if you have a router with an SFP cage this would be a way to accomplish the single box goal.
The French sense is how the word was originally used, and it can still be used that way. But the primary sense now is about the superficial nature of the person’s knowledge or interest. So it’s negative, but not as negative as the word OP is seeking.

Agreed. The only thing the SOG wins on, for me, is the pliers. If I could put the SOG pliers mechanism on a Leatherman that would be pretty good package.

I had high hopes for the SOG Powerpint. The bitholder is genius, as is its compound leverage for the pliers, like other SOG multitools. And then the can opener snapped off while trying to open a can. Maybe I did it wrong, but I’ve used SAK can openers (new and old style), p-38s, p-51s, pocketknives and even chefs knives to open cans without any trouble. But that Powerpint opener was defeated by a can of tuna. it seems not sharp enough and beveled the wrong way for its placement in the knife. When the can started bending in I stopped and gave it a bit better edge. But it puts the cutting edge a bit away from the rim, and that lets the lid stretch. If you flip it and try going the other way round then the handle gets in the way so you can’t pivot it properly.
After it broke I used the main knife blade and got the can open in 1/10th the time I spent fiddling with the opener. But this ended the Powerpint’s use as my one blade while traveling. Now I prefer a SAK (better scissors too) and Knipex pliers.

That is still technically true, but it requires filing your taxes with “itemized deductions” wherein you provide a complete list of all the things that you can deduct from your taxable income before calculating the tax owed. Stuff like mortgage interest, charitable donations, medical and education expenses. Back in 2013 up to 30% of tax filers did that. Mostly this was done by higher income people who had enough income and deductions to put them over the default standard deduction.
The “standard deduction” was increased in big changes to our taxes in 2018, and since then only about 10% of filers itemized. So mortgage interest isn’t usually paid with pre-tax money anymore by up to two thirds of those who did it before.
The other reasons for carrying a low interest rate mortgage are still true.
