I am weak. Because I am weak, I have been told that I have no use on this earth.
Being kind is so easy yet so difficult for so many. Lately the burden has gotten so much heavier.
I’m trying very hard put out what I want to see into the world, but people see kindness as weakness and seem to absolutely delight in trying to stomp it out.
You know… when you try to steal someone’s happiness, it doesn’t add to yours.
Don’t you guys get tired of fighting for rights that were already fought for, just to have another generation fight for those same fucking rights? After a certain point, I’d rather just give up than keep this seemingly never ending cycle of bullshit going. What point is there in fighting for rights now, no matter how much they are truly needed, just to have to fight for them in less than 5 years because some batshit crazy psychopath took the position of the less batshit crazy psychopath who vehemently didn’t want to give you those rights, so they made them easy to take back for the next guy or maybe a guy later to take back. It’s just seems pointless at times. I’m still trying and fighting, but I wonder if we are just prolonging the inevitable. Maybe humanity isn’t as great as we thought, and people truly are more evil than good.
Then give up.
But don’t try telling the rest of us that we should give up and forfeit our rights.
I’m tired. Completely exhausted. But I’m going to contribute to happiness. I’m not saying that you should. Do whatever you want.
Yeah. Maybe humanity sucks. Doesn’t mean I have to give up & join in. I’ve been robbed of my agency & taken advantage of too many times to tell. I’m not joining in on this.
I understand joining the shitty side of humanity because it’s the “”“easier”“” choice. But, damn, all I can do is send pity you way, because you’ve clearly made up your mind. I wish you happiness regardless.

Bro, for so many reasons, it’s already a lost cause. Even if you join up with one of the lesser evils, you’re still fucking yourself.
For thousands of years there have been people who told us things can’t go on like this.
Another reply pointed out that even if it’s true you have nothing better to do than try. Those in power benefit from our defeatist attitudes. I don’t blame you though. Shit looks grim.
Hopium is one helluva drug, citizen.
Is living while rejecting hope actually living? Personally, even if there won’t ever be change. Even if the future is truly a lost cause. I would rather delusionally hope for a better future than succumb to a form of realism that demands an expectation of progressively worse suffering. So, I choose to believe that improvement is possible, regardless of whether there is evidence for it, but also becuse there is evidence that it can happen.
Your opening question is naive at best and disingenuous otherwise.
Life is pain. Get a helmet.
“Evidence” is more easily manufactured than found.
See: humanity’s time-honored addiction to religion despite the endless war, rape, child abuse, about myriad other vile acts that it is directly the cause of.
Also, because*
Next.
edit: What a soft-bellied bunch in this little suckhole you’ve found together. I wish you all the best. You’re gonna need it. 🤣
All those negative effects would happen with or without religion. I think the real issue is blind trust of hierarchies. Many of those who ascribe to organized religion have a tendency towards that (the loud ones do at least), but religion isn’t the only pathway by which conniving subhuman trash controls the masses. Anything that can enforce an in-group/out-group think is a pathway to this form of control that leaves people more vulnerable to allowing despicable acts in the name of God, the public good, safety, liberty, freedom, democracy, progress, etc. Pick your symbol of idealism, and you’ll find someone who committed untold atrocities in its name.
If you’d prefer to succumb to hate, that’s your prerogative. And I wouldn’t necessarily consider it naive to prefer hope anyway, although having lived in hate in the past, I can understand why you might feel that way.
Any “helmet” you could wear is something that others would call delusion. It’s always a lens by which you choose to warp reality. Hardened pessimism is no more realistic than blind optimism. It all depends on what you want to protect. Your own corporeal form and possessions (in which case, please keep your armor of selfishness and cynicism), or something less tangible, like emotional resilience and a belief that there might be a dream that’s achievable.
Regardless of all that, and in spite of your attempts to shame me for grammatical mistakes, I’d like to thank you for inspiring some thought-provoking questions.
Maybe it is comrade, but I have no other thing to do than fight.
That’s exactly where they want you, though, neighbor. Backed into a corner and pressed down by inevitability. The thing is, we only fight each other, instead of those pushing the pawns around the board.
You only fight each other if you are lost. I fight the bourgeoisie.
Yes, yes, I can see your huge guillotine from here, kiddo. So big. What a hero.
Wow you are so cool being reactionary. You are the one that see the reality, let me guess, you are centrist, right. Only a centrist can have so brilliant take, I envy you, I want to be smart and sober in a way only an experienced person like you can be. The world would be such a great place if everyone thought like you, you should write a book.
Exactly where they want you is believing there’s nothing you can do so they can do whatever they want to you and you won’t even bother to try to make it stop.
You may not be able to take on the world, especially not on your own. But if you don’t even take what opportunities there are, you seal your own fate.
Life is the story we tell ourselves.
That’s myopic as fuck. Shallow, yes, but shockingly self-centered. Are you in school, still?
Nope. It’s actually exactly how our brains work.
Life will mirror the narrative you have in your head. If your story is “This is impossible” you don’t do anything to make it happen because you believe it’s pointless. Change the story to “This is hard but doable” and you’ll do more to affect change.
The more you change the narrative to the positive, the better things get and more people are able to change their narrative.
Spreading doomerism just goes to ensure we all end up doomed.
People just ignore this kind of advice because they think it’s shallow or “too easy,” lol. And it’s not self centered unless your story is.
