Americans are overwhelmingly in favor of reforming the Supreme Court along lines proposed by President Joe Biden, even as approval for the high court is marked by a sharp political divide, according to a new USA TODAY-Ipsos election year poll.
A large majority – 76% of Americans – support a binding code of conduct for the Supreme Court, according to the poll.
I find this part pretty telling:
…63%, supported enacting an 18-year term limit for Supreme Court justices – who enjoy lifetime appointments – with a bare 51% of Republicans in favor along with 61% of independents and a whopping 83% of Democrats.
But then:
Some 58% of Republicans considered Biden’s long-shot proposal to impose term limits and enact a binding code of conduct on the high court a “major threat to democracy,” compared with 26% of independents and just 10% of Democrats.
So basically most Republicans are like “yeah we need term limits… Wait, Biden wants term limits? Fuck that!”
It’s the same people who enjoy the ACA and want to end Obamacare.
Morons.
Same folks that praised Trump for Operation Warp Speed then became anti-vaxxers once Biden won the election. These dumb fucks will literally kill themselves just to spite Democrats.
These dumb fucks will literally kill themselves just to spite Democrats.
If they would do it faster without taking everyone else down with them, I wouldn’t be too upset.
Or talking about it ad-FUCKING nauseum.
They are like that with every single policy. They shot down their own border bill to own the libs. Fucking clowns.
They’re fucking morons, what else would you expect?
Next they’ll say voting is a major threat to democracy.
They are already taking steps in that direction with the voter roll purges.
Next they’ll say voting is a major threat to democracy.
Didn’t they just declare at the RNC that they don’t want to live in a democracy?
That was the Washington state GOP, actually.
They already have with their actions.
“Fuck you” Supreme Court finds
We need to purge at least 3 of them for treason
We need an entire legal reform but right now we really need to focus on the SC since that’s where the most damning issues lie with the nation as a whole.
And as always, polls don’t fucking matter.
That statement had a lot more credit to it before Biden dropped out of the race due to disastrous polling.
Biden dropping out doesn’t give any more legitimacy to polls. They are inaccurate representations.
But… The polls helped prove the need for the pivot. You understand that, right?
I think he means they only matter when it supports his position in an argument.
